Art Visits in Dublin:
History with Gender Perspective
The history of art is incredibly rich and complex, spanning centuries of creation, inquiry, and exploration. Yet, it’s frequently taught through a narrow, outdated perspective.
I invite you to challenge established narratives and discover the voices and visions that have all too often been left on the margins.

Step Into a New Art History
In small groups, we'll walk together through the Dublin’s museums to analyse how women have been represented throughout art history and, equally, how they have chosen to express themselves as creators.
An unique opportunity to develop a fresh perspective and understand
the impact of the gender lens on art.

The Story Behind their Bodies
We visited the National Gallery of Ireland to observe and reflect on a selection of artworks like never before, paying particular attention to how women have been depicted across the centuries by different painters and artistic movements. We discover that almost all share something in common: women often occupy a passive role, appearing idealised or transformed into objects of desire, always observed and interpreted through the traditional male gaze.
